Fire
I’m playing with fire
I need to be stopped
It’s burning brighter than ever
My morals are rocked
It’s not the fire I seek
The fire I need
Let this fire go out
Before me I plead
It’s so desirable
Pleasing to the eye
Drawing me closer
Near enough to die
The closer I get
The harder it is to breathe
But somehow I can’t stop
It ‘promises’ to achieve
Just before it’s all over
And I’ve chosen the wrong path
Something inside stops me moving
Splashes me with a bath
The fire I seek
Burns deeply within
Gives me a second chance
Teaches me to win

I wrote this poem when I was going off track in life and the path I was on was headed me to a dead end. It had to change, I wanted life to be meaningful again.

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
